Expertise

BUILT AROUND THE YACHT, THE CAPTAIN, THE CREW

CORE

At NCA Refit, expertise is grounded in direct control of the refit process.

NCA Refit specialises in refit, repair and maintenance programmes for superyachts, megayachts and large sailing yachts, operating on vessels that demand both heavy engineering capability and the precision of high-end yachting. Each project is governed through a defined operational structure led by a dedicated project manager, supported by in-house engineers, designers and specialised technicians.

This approach ensures technical coordination, schedule control and clear decision-making throughout every phase of the refit. Inspections and surveys are integral to the process, allowing issues to be identified early and addressed with solutions focused on performance, durability and cost efficiency.

#STRUCTURE

Hull, Structure and Metal Works

NCA Refit manages comprehensive hull maintenance and structural intervention programmes for large motor and sailing yachts, starting from detailed inspections and extending through execution. Activities include underwater inspections, hull bottom surveys and in-depth technical assessments aimed at establishing the yacht’s structural condition and defining the most appropriate scope of work.

Metal works are carried out in-house by specialised teams, addressing both corrective and preventive interventions to ensure structural integrity, safety and long-term durability.
Each operation is planned with a clear understanding of the yacht’s original design, operational profile and future use, allowing structural solutions to be implemented with precision, efficiency and full control of execution.

#SURFACES

Exterior Refit and Deck Works

Exterior refit activities address both the aesthetic condition and the structural performance of the yacht’s external surfaces and deck areas.
Programmes include complete repainting cycles and surface treatments, carried out through controlled processes to ensure long-term finish quality, durability and uniformity. Anti-corrosion and anti-osmosis treatments are applied as part of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, preserving structural integrity over time.

Deck works extend to steel interventions, teak replacement and refurbishment, and the overhaul or upgrade of deck equipment, ensuring functional reliability alongside visual coherence. Where required by design evolution or performance objectives, exterior refit programmes may also include structural modifications, such as hull or superstructure lengthening, executed in coordination with engineering and class requirements to maintain balance, proportions and operational efficiency.

#Load, balance and precision

Sailing Yacht Specialisation

NCA Refit offers dedicated services for sailing yachts, addressing systems where precision, load management and balance are critical to safety and performance. Operations include mast stepping and unstepping carried out with specialised equipment and procedures, ensuring structural accuracy and controlled load distribution throughout the process. Comprehensive standing and running rigging services are provided, from inspection and replacement to tuning and optimisation, safeguarding reliability under continuous stress and varying sailing conditions.

Deck equipment upgrades and adjustments are executed to improve handling efficiency, sailing performance and operational ergonomics, respecting the yacht’s original design while adapting it to contemporary standards and usage. This specialised approach reflects a deep understanding of sailing yachts as complex, responsive systems, where engineering discipline and seamanship meet.

#ASSESSMENT

Inspections, Surveys and Performance Assessment

Inspections and surveys form an integral part of the refit process.
By identifying issues early and assessing long-term implications, NCA Refit proposes targeted interventions focused on performance, durability and cost efficiency, supporting informed technical decisions before and during execution.

#CONCIERGE

Supporting Life and Operations Ashore

The Concierge at NCA Refit functions as an operational interface designed to support captains and crew throughout extended refit periods, ensuring continuity between life on board and life ashore. Its role is coordination rather than hospitality: managing logistics, time and daily requirements so crews may remain focused on the vessel and its programme.

Through a single point of reference, captains and crew are supported with dedicated assistance and access to structured services. These include crew lounge and bar areas, gym, spa and relaxation spaces, restaurant services and menu coordination, as well as the organisation of cultural and leisure activities such as performances, outdoor experiences, shopping through selected local agreements, museum and gallery visits, tour operator services, car rental, private heliport access and ship chandler coordination.

Each element is handled as part of a structured support system, designed to reduce friction, maintain operational rhythm and allow refit activities to progress without unnecessary interruption.

Keeping design, engineering and execution under one roof allows us to control each step of the refit, eliminate friction and protect timelines.

FACILITIES

Industrial Scale for Complex Yacht Refit

NCA Refit operates across an integrated infrastructure of approximately 136,000 square metres between Marina di Carrara and La Spezia, forming one of the most capable refit platforms in the Mediterranean.
Designed to support complex motor and sailing yacht programmes, the infrastructure combines large-scale industrial capacity with the level of control and precision required by contemporary yachting. Direct access to maritime routes, suppliers and specialised services allows refit operations to be carried out efficiently without disconnecting yachts and crews from the wider operational ecosystem.
